The first of possibly a series of local monthly tournaments.
We are providing some setups and input for this tournament but it is being ran by Bonebrake Promotions which is a new local startup.
Initial tournament posts only, no follow ups
We will be running Street Fighter, Smash, and Amiibo tournaments for GR8BITLIVE on Saturday, July 11th.
A zero admission fee, day long, video game music concert/gaming convention. Donations at the door go toward the purchase of new gaming equipment for the kids at the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
July 11th, at DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids, MI. All ages with plenty to do, see, and hear. Join us for some good times and a great cause!
It’s a great cause, and they needed someone who doesn’t hate sick children to step in and cover for the guys who cancelled on a charity event at the last minute, so we’re doing it!
If there is anyone from the Smash community who could help out that would be amazing, since that’s not something we normally do, but we would like to make sure it’s done right! – Contact Us
Also anyone or any business interested in donating prizes – Contact Us
With so many out of town for Combo Breaker, we will not be doing casuals on Saturday 05/23/15. See you next weekend!
Looks like no convention this year, see you next year!
JAFAX has decided to postpone the convention until 2016, in order to bring you the best event that we can. Staff will be securing the best venue for JAFAX and working throughout the year on guests and programming. We have faced many challenges in the past year. Moving off campus means that JAFAX is no longer a function of the student organization that hosted our event. We have had to create a new organization, plan an event, and attempt to secure a new venue at the same time. JAFAX staff has come to the conclusion that trying to accomplish three such important tasks at the same time does not allow us to do any of them well.
We are grateful for an artist and vendor community that makes our convention a priority every year. We cherish the guests and attendees that have helped make us a success for the past twenty years and are looking forward to seeing you next year. You all give us the enthusiasm to overcome the challenges we face and keep putting on a great event.
Please stay tuned to our Facebook page and JAFAX.org for information about JAFAX 2016!

Saturday June 21st
Our venue is changing a lot lately as we try out new places. Best bet is to check the Facebook Group to see where we are before showing up!
* The 4 year anniversary party will be held overnight at GrandLan on Aug 31st. $5. 2pm till 8am.
* Tournament Brackets
* BYOB, but alcohol must be kept in the back room we are renting, not in the main customer area.
* They are fine with us setting up grills in the back lot
* They will provide some barrells for drinks if we provide the ice
* Lets everyone pitch in with a dish to pass or something and make it happen!
(Because of JAFAX, we will not be doing our normal Saturday at GrandLAN on the 22nd)
We’re having a tournament just to help raise money for the Skullgirls donation campaign!
Since this event is to raise funds for Skullgirls, all the pot money will go to the Lab Zero Games’ campaign on indiegogo. Winners will receive prizes instead of cash (see below).
Prizes will be distributed by letting all players pick what they want starting with 1st place and going to last, until no prizes are left. This means that if we get more prizes donated than we have players who enter, EVERYONE gets a prize (and some get two)
Once we receive the perks from Lab Zero, they will be distributed the same way, starting back at 1st place.
Tournament will use patched PS3 version of Skullgirls and lagless Asus monitors (evo monitors)
Can’t make it?
You should donate to the funding campaign online instead!

There has been some mad smack talking on Facebook lately culminating in a money match which neither of these guys showed up for this past weekend. Way to keep everything bizarro-hype 😉
So basically this is the most important money match in the history of fighting games. Gentlemen, place your bets. Are you Team Gerald© or Team Jake©? One million dollars, first to infinity, it’s Mahvel baby!
